GECO Plus – the perfect all-rounder for sitting game, stalking and driven hunts

While partial fragmentation or partial jacket bullets were the most popular hunting bullets until the 1960s, the need for deformation bullets with more stable mass grew in the 1970s. The background to this was the desire for a safe exit wound, less fragmentation and, as a result, less game devaluation.

It was in this context that GECO developed the proven and popular GECO Plus. Compared to a simple soft point bullet, the GECO Plus bullet core is firmly attached to the jacket using a special soldering process, which gives it its high mass stability.

The manufacturing steps at a glance:

  1. 1. cup production from tombac.
  2. 2. drawing and cutting of the jacket.
  3. 3. insertion of a solder into the jacket, setting of the lead core and subsequent soldering in the furnace. After cooling, an extremely strong bond is formed between the core and jacket.
  4. 4. Stamping of the intended breaking points, which ensure a rapid expansion of the bullet.
  5. 5. Final pressing of the bullet and giving it its final geometry.
  6. 6. Incorporating the pinching groove and calibration. The pinching groove ensures that the bullet will later fit perfectly in the cartridge.

The GECO Plus is the ideal choice for hunters seeking a good balance between rapid momentary effect and high penetration. Thanks to its mass stability, it is also outstandingly suited for heavier game and guarantees a sufficiently deep effect even when hitting bones.

The GECO Plus is especially well suited for the driven hunt season. Composite core technology prevents over-fragmentation at short distances and ensures a safe exit wound, even under difficult conditions.
