GECO Team Members shine at the German Championship Handgun IPSC Shooting in Philippsburg!
Under the GECO motto "WHERE EXCITEMENT STARTS", the GECO team once again made an impressive showing at the German Championship IPSC Handgun Part I in Philippsburg. In the first part of the competition, which took place from 5 to 7 July, the shooters competed in the Standard, Production Optics and Revolver divisions. A total of 410 shooters were entered, including 185 in the Standard, 20 in the Revolver and 205 in the Production Optics division. The event was also enriched by additional participants from various countries: 14 from Switzerland, 4 from France, 2 from the Netherlands and one shooter from Belgium.
Over the course of three days, 13 challenging stages with around 236 scoring shots offered exciting competitions. The final award ceremony on Sunday crowned a successful weekend for the GECO team.
Stefan Rumpler, an integral part of the GECO team, proudly informs us: "I am delighted to report that Team GECO returned home from the IPSC DM PART I with three medals in the three divisions. Sascha Back won the Revolver Division. Luis Ehrhardt is German champion in Production Optics and I am German vice-champion in the Standard Division. Patrick Kummer also came 7th in the national rankings in the Standard class. I think that these results of the GECO shooters are quite impressive!"
Excitement is already building for the second part of the German Championships, which will once again be held in Philippsburg from 16 to 18 August 2024. This time, the Open, Production and Classic divisions will be on the programme. Once again, all divisions will be strongly represented by GECO team shooters. A total of 416 participants are expected: 137 in the Open, 234 in the Production and 45 in the Classic division. Once again, there will be participants from Switzerland, Belgium, France, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic. This testifies to the international importance of the national event, even among our neighbours. With a further 13 stages and around 245 scoring shots, this competition also promises exciting, high-class and dynamic shooting action. The final award ceremony on Sunday 18 August will celebrate the successes of the shooters in a fitting manner.
