GECO TEAM ON FIRE – FROM CHÂTEAUROUX TO PHILIPPSBURG

Some weekends in IPSC feel busy. This one (08.05-10.05) felt more like a full-send endurance match with a shot timer permanently screaming in your ear. And right in the middle of it: the GECO IPSC TEAM delivering podiums, titles and serious pace on two major national championships.
French Nationals: 50 Years of IPSC Excellence
This past weekend, the legendary French IPSC Handgun Nationals took place in Châteauroux — and this wasn’t just another edition. It was the 50th anniversary of the championship, hosted at the impressive CNTS (Centre National de Tir Sportif), one of Europe’s premier shooting venues and home to countless international top-level competitions.
And the format? Absolutely relentless.
Competitors tackled 30 stages across just three half-days, turning the match into what many described as a “mini European Championship” thanks to the huge international attendance and fierce level of competition.
In the highly competitive Production Optics Division, the GECO TEAM made sure the podium had a very familiar look:
Emile Obriot (GECO TEAM) – 1st Place
Luis Ehrhardt (GECO TEAM) – 3rd Place
Dylan Keppel (GECO TEAM) – 4th Place
And the ladies’ competition within the Production Optics Ladies brought even more GECO success:
Cyrielle Vivo (GECO TEAM) – 1st Place
Production Optics is currently one of the fastest-growing and toughest IPSC divisions worldwide — where every transition, every reload and every split-second counts. The level of shooting in Châteauroux was absolutely world-class, and the GECO athletes proved once again that they belong right at the very top.
Or put another way:
while others were still figuring out their stage plans, the GECO TEAM was already collecting trophies.
German IPSC Shotgun Championship: Rumpler Takes the Title
Meanwhile, over in Philippsburg, Germany’s best shotgun shooters gathered for the German IPSC Shotgun Championship. And once again, the GECO TEAM delivered.
Stefan Rumpler (GECO TEAM) secured the German Championship title in the Shotgun Open Division with a commanding performance.
And there was more GECO success in Philippsburg:
Thomas Edvardsson (GECO TEAM) travelled all the way from Sweden to compete against Germany’s top shotgun athletes — and earned an impressive 3rd place SHOTGUN STANDARD OVERALL in the highly competitive Standard Division.
Philippsburg has long been considered one of the iconic IPSC venues in Germany, and winning there means battling through some of the country’s strongest competition. In Open Shotgun, where speed, precision and pure control collide at full throttle, that title is anything but easy to earn.
SAFE TO SAY:
GECO TEAM stepped to the line, heard the beep… and got the job done.
From Open to Standard Division, the GECO TEAM once again proved its international strength, determination and competitive spirit on one of Germany’s toughest IPSC stages.
One Weekend. Two Championships. Plenty of GECO Power.
From Handgun in France to Shotgun in Germany, this weekend once again showed the strength, depth and international class of the GECO TEAM.
Huge congratulations to all athletes on these outstanding performances! We are proud of you all.
