IPSC PCC & Mini Rifle: Full Power in Small Calibers

Fast-paced, precise, and anything but “small” – discover the high-adrenaline world of PCC and Mini Rifle, and how GECO powered performance at the 2025 World Shoot.

Two disciplines, two calibers – one goal: maximum dynamics, speed, and precision. IPSC PCC (Pistol Caliber Carbine) and Mini Rifle are two young but rapidly growing disciplines within the IPSC world. They bring new energy to the stage – action-packed, fast-paced, and accessible.

Think small calibers mean less excitement? Think again. Every split second, every target change, and every shot under pressure counts here.

PCC – The Machine Pistol Goes Competitive

PCC involves semi-automatic long guns chambered in pistol calibers, usually 9 mm Luger. These platforms resemble submachine guns in appearance but are built for civilian sport shooting. Today, every major manufacturer offers dedicated PCC competition models.

Why is PCC booming?

  • Affordable 9x19 ammo

  • Lower range requirements (25 m often sufficient)

  • Easy handling – great for beginners

  • High shooting cadence and serious fun

Divisions:

  • PCC Optics: Red dots, laser modules, muzzle brakes & foregrips allowed

  • PCC Iron: Only iron sights (notch-post or diopter)

Scoring follows Minor Power Factor (minimum caliber 9x19 mm, bullet weight ≥115 gr) using the standard IPSC hit factor system.

Mini Rifle – .22-Caliber Action

Mini Rifle delivers IPSC-style excitement using semi-auto .22 lr rifles. Originally for recreational or Olympic-style shooting, it has now become a rising IPSC trend.

Why Mini Rifle is on the rise:

  • Extremely low ammo costs

  • Minimal recoil – ideal for beginners & tech enthusiasts

  • Very flexible range requirements (50–100 m)

  • Big tech potential on a budget

Divisions:

  • Mini Rifle Open: Full gear allowed – scopes, bipods, attachments

  • Mini Rifle Standard: Iron sights only, minimal mods

Note: .22 lr requires calibrated steel targets and can be sensitive to setup quality.

World Shoot 2025 – Small Caliber, Big Stage
