LIVE FROM ZNOJMO: GECO AT THE FIRST IPSC PCC/MINI RIFLE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP – ACTION, EXPERTISE AND PASSION

A report by Luis Ehrhardt, GECO IPSC top shooter and colleague from the development department.

As an active IPSC shooter ...

... and member of the GECO team it is a very special experience for me to be there this time, not on the trigger, but behind the scenes – as a match reporter and technical expert for our GECO match ammunition. Because we are making history: From 18 to 25 May 2025, the first IPSC PCC/Mini Rifle World Championship will take place in Znojmo, Czech Republic – and GECO will be there in full force. As official ammunition sponsor and area partner, we will ensure that the world's best shooters can compete at the highest level with ultra-precise 9mm Luger Special Selection and powerful .22 l.r. Semi-Auto ammunition.

GECO – Where performance begins and precision is at home

We are incredibly proud that GECO has been entrusted with supplying the match ammunition for this historic IPSC event. Our products stand for reliability, consistent performance and uncompromising quality – characteristics that will be put to the test here on the international stage.

Over 1,000 shooters from 51 nations, including around 750 with PCC (Pistol Caliber Carbine) and 250 with Minirifle (.22 l.r.), will compete in 60 stages of thrilling competitions at distances ranging from 3 to 80 metres. Two shooting ranges – Hodonice and Oblekovice – give a tangible impression of the huge scale of this tournament. Three shifts a day, full concentration, and all that in changeable weather between 10 and 20 degrees Celsius.

Of targets and team spirit – where nations unite

Whether the USA, the Philippines, Brazil, Germany, South Africa or Italy – they are all represented. But smaller nations such as Hong Kong, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea and Sri Lanka are also sending teams to compete. There are individual rankings and team rankings, in which four athletes per nation score points together. The spirit? Global. The team spirit? Tangible.

A very special goose bump moment: the grand opening on the historic market square in Znojmo. Flags, music, medieval shows, official speeches – a moving start that perfectly underscores the character of this event.

GECO right in the middle of it all – technology, advice and a listening ear

With our GECO information and service stand, we are close to the athletes, the action and the excitement. This is where competitive practice and technical expertise meet on equal terms. Discussions with top international shooters provide valuable feedback for our further development – directly from the shooting range to the laboratory.

Conclusion: More than just ammunition – a statement for the sport

This world championship is not only a sporting highlight, but also a milestone for the IPSC community worldwide. And GECO is right in the middle of it – as a reliable partner, technical enabler and genuine part of the community.

WHERE EXCITEMENT STARTS.

‘This event proves that GECO ammunition is ready for the world stage – and we are proud to be actively shaping this new era in IPSC.’
