UPDATE: OOOPS.. WE DID IT AGAIN! ROAD TO IPSC EHC HUNGARY …

GECO and Team GECO ready for the 2026 IPSC Handgun European Championship
When, at the end of May 2026, the first shooters load their magazines and the starting signal sounds at Lake Balaton, one of Europe’s biggest action shooting events will begin: the 2026 IPSC Handgun European Championship in Buzsák, Hungary.
More than 1,500 shooters from across Europe and beyond are expected to compete in the wide variety of divisions within the dynamic shooting sport discipline of IPSC Handgun. Speed, precision and absolute control often make the difference by a matter of a few hundredths of a second – and it is precisely this combination that has made IPSC one of the most fascinating disciplines in international shooting sport for years.
Right at the heart of the action: GECO.
In 2026, GECO will once again be the official match ammunition partner of the European Championships and thus a central part of an event that the international IPSC community is already eagerly anticipating.
IPSC Handgun – precision under time pressure
IPSC stands for “International Practical Shooting Confederation” and combines dynamic shooting with the highest precision and tactical decision-making. Shooters complete demanding stages featuring a wide variety of targets, distances and movement sequences – always under time pressure.
The key factor here is the interplay between the athlete, the weapon and the ammunition. At this level, it is not only absolute precision that counts, but also controllable recoil, reliable performance and a consistent shot pattern over thousands of rounds.
This is precisely where GECO has been setting standards in the IPSC sector for years.
GECO once again Official Match Ammo
As the official match ammunition supplier, GECO provides participants on site with a selection of the most commonly used IPSC calibres internationally.
Among others, the following will be available:
9 mm Luger 8.0 g full metal jacket
.38 Super Auto full metal jacket
9 mm Luger 10.0 g full metal jacket flat nose
.40 Smith & Wesson full metal jacket flat nose
GECO thus offers precisely the flexibility that ambitious competitive shooters need for their individual setups – from fast open-gun setups to classic standard or production configurations.
The official test match in April 2026 already demonstrated that the ammunition performs impressively even under the toughest competition conditions. There, GECO ammunition was used intensively in match conditions and impressed with its reliability, consistent performance and trouble-free operation.
Team GECO: International Power for the European Championships
In addition to its role as a match partner, attention naturally also turns to the international GECO IPSC Team, which is travelling to Hungary in 2026 with strong personalities and a wealth of experience.
Sascha Back’s performance will be particularly exciting.
The multiple European and European runner-up has been one of the most recognisable faces on the European IPSC scene for years. Following numerous successes in the Revolver Division and IPSC Rifle, a new chapter is now beginning for him: the move to the Open Division.
With his Tanfoglio Domina Extreme and GECO .38 Super Auto, Sascha is taking on a completely new sporting challenge – uncompromisingly designed for maximum speed, control and precision.
But it is not only experienced champions who are shaping Team GECO 2026.
With Katharina Schneider from Austria and Camilla Almici from Italy, GECO welcomes two new international female athletes to the team, who are already bringing a fresh spirit and strong ambitions.
Katharina Schneider is one of the most exciting up-and-coming athletes on the Austrian IPSC scene. With plenty of ambition, technical precision and a strong competitive spirit, she has made a name for herself in a short space of time and will represent GECO at international matches in future.
Camilla Almici also brings plenty of passion and competitive experience to the team. The Italian stands for modern IPSC, high dynamism and absolute enthusiasm for the sport – qualities that fit perfectly with GECO’s philosophy.
Together, they embody exactly what IPSC is all about: performance, focus and enthusiasm for every single stage.

It is a meeting place for the international scene, a stage for innovation and a venue where Europe’s best shooters compete against one another. For GECO, the event represents not only sporting excellence but also a close connection to the international IPSC community.
For many years, GECO has been supporting the dynamic sport of shooting at national and international level – as a partner, supplier and active part of the scene.
